At the Monte Carlo Television Festival, which took place from June 14 to 18, 2024, Little House on the Prairie celebrated its 50th anniversary. On this occasion, I was able to see Karen Grassle (Caroline Ingalls), Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary Ingalls), Wendi Lou Lee (Grace Ingalls), Alison Arngrim (Nellie Oleson), Leslie Landon (Michael Landon’s daughter), and meet Matthew Laborteaux (Albert Ingalls) for the first time. A lot of emotions during these few days.
Thanks to Patrick Loubatière for organizing this event!
On Friday evening, we were able to attend the opening ceremony. The cast of Little House on the Prairie arrived one by one. What a joy to see them again and to be able to take a photo with them
.
On Saturday morning, we attended “Behind the Scenes,” a panel where the cast answered questions about the series. About 800 people attended. Patrick Loubatière paid tribute to Michael Landon. It was a very moving moment. He also had us sing the series’ theme song. I remember Wendi and Leslie filming the audience. At the end, the cast blew out the candles on a magnificent cake representing the village of Walnut Grove.
On Saturday afternoon, following a game organized by the festival, 40 people were able to participate in a tea party with the actors. A special moment around a magnificent cake…
Melissa Gilbert was scheduled to attend the festival, but she canceled.
I had the chance to meet her in the United States and also last year at the Monte Carlo Television Festival.
